I have TWO awesome announcements to make your summer!
#1 It’s time to buy the books!
I have lowered the price on my books to $9.95 each from $17.95 each.
#2 It’s time to get out the grill!
Almost all Beyond Meat products are kosher certified!
This Mama is busy with teaching, workshops and planning my cooking camp (1st session sold out! 1 space left in 2nd session), so excuse the very short Mother’s Day post here, but I wanted to make sure you had some easy healthy ideas for Mother’s Day.
Purim is the usual type of Jewish holiday… “They tried to kill us. It didn’t work. Let’s eat!” But there are several mitzvot (commandments) and minhagim (customs) very particular to Purim. These make plenty of work for parents and plenty of fun for kids. I’m giving you easy ideas for a few of the requirements and customs: HAMANTASCHEN, MISHLOACH MANOT and your PURIM SEUDAH.
I’m often better at giving the advice of Keeping It Simple, than actually following it (just ask my Mom!)! I just can’t resist trying new recipes, CONSTANTLY!
However, I recently succeeded, with terrific results. Here’s what happened… and how to keep it simple for a healthy, plant-based Thanksgiving.
Tomorrow night, Yom Kippur – and a day long fast – begins for many of my readers. What to eat before the fast and what to eat after for “break fast”?
If you don’t yet know what you’re eating before the fast I have the perfect recipe. A split pea lentil soup where all ingredients come from the pantry. Isn’t it exciting to have an easy recipe you can rely on and that you can keep all of the shelf-stable ingredients on hand?
Two weeks ago, when a Washington Jewish Week reporter visited my kosher vegetarian cooking camp, he had just written a story about the Impossible Burger and tried it himself. Of course he had to ask me if I wanted to try it. I told him I honestly wasn’t that interested. I don’t actually miss the taste of a juicy hamburger or have any desire to feel like I’m eating flesh.
Now, I have tried the Impossible Burger and I’m here to tell you about it!
