The truth is, making a cake from scratch isn’t a big deal and doesn’t even take much longer than a cake mix. And brownies? Seriously exactly the same as a mix. The other advantage of making a cake or brownies from scratch, particularly brownies (because they’re always chocolate!), is that you can use cacao powder. That’s like cocoa powder before all the antioxidants are stripped from it. Cacao powder can actually have more antioxidants than blueberries! Best Ever Lasagna! Vegan, Gluten-Free, Easy, Healthy. No Fake Cheese!
I made this dish last week for a Succos lunch. One of my guests, a friend’s daughter, is wheat-free and hates vegetables. I was sure this recipe would be my best bet. However, even I was surprised and thrilled when she and my other meat-loving guests couldn’t get enough of it (The vegetarians loved it too!). I wouldn’t dream of making her – or you – wait!

The last few days I’ve noticed that the wind is picking up and each time the wind blows, leaves are raining down on the street. It may be September 4, but it is still summer and we’re enjoying the last days of its bounty. With this bounty, my daughter invented an incredible dessert! Frozen Watermelon Cupcakes!
